How My Father’s Death Inspired Me to Rethink Health and Wellness for Black Women Facing Chronic Illness

When my father passed away at just 63 years old, despite doing “everything right,” it sent me on a journey that completely redefined how I think about health, especially for Black women like me. In this video, I share the personal story behind the founding of Enhance Black Women’s Health and the three mindset shifts that helped me go from burnout and fear to sustainability and purpose.

You’ll learn why traditional wellness advice often falls short for Black women, how I’ve reshaped my views on food and movement, and what the data says about heart disease in women, especially Black women. Most importantly, you’ll walk away with a renewed sense of what it means to build a health routine that actually works for your life.

This is more than a story about grief. It’s a call to redefine health on your own terms.
