Breaking Barriers, Building Health: A Community Conversation on Black Men’s Wellness-Brother2Brother
The Black Men’s Health Clinic® (BMHC) served as a health and wellness subject matter expert (SME) organization and voice for the voiceless in the healthcare system on the “Brother2Brother” Panel yesterday evening (12/4/25).
This discussion panel was hosted by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and one of its affinity partners, the Black Leadership AIDS Crisis Coalition (BLACC), to spark real and relevant discussions around Black men and public health.
BMHC CEO and Founder, Larry Wallace Sr., Hon. D.H.A., served as BMHC’s SME, where he gathered with a diverse group of professionals from the Austin community to identify holes in systems, to share effective approaches to holistic wellness, and to exchange potential action plans for healthcare improvement and advancement.
During the panel discussion, BMHC addressed unique strategies that public and private sectors and nonprofits need to implement to close the gap on health inequities. BMHC delivered a particular focus on mortality and morbidity disparities, mental health, exercise, diet and nutrition, social determinants of health, educational attainment, access to food, and poverty.
Dr. Larry Wallace Sr. made a statement about the Brother2Brother panel. He asserted, “It was important for BMHC to be on this panel tonight to discuss the state of Black health… simply because the Black Men’s Health Clinic understands the issues that surround Black men. We provide solutions that open doors of access to all men of color to address mental, physical, and social determinants of health dilemmas.”
